Fine Gardening
At Wild Natives, our primary focus as fine gardeners is on garden maintenance. This approach reflects our philosophy of working harmoniously with the land and developing a deep understanding of your garden. We have extensive experience in maintaining your existing garden as it is, or gradually transitioning it to a more sustainable, native landscape at a pace that suits your preferences and budget—whether quickly or over the course of several seasons.
Our Services Include:
Integrated Pest Management (IPM): We utilize IPM strategies to control pests while avoiding all chemical pesticides.
Organic Fertilizers: We use only non-chemical, organic fertilizers and materials to nourish your garden.
Native Grass Replacement: We have expertise in replacing traditional lawns with native grasses that require less water and maintenance.
Fruit Tree and Shrub Care: Our team can prune and care for your fruit trees and shrubs, ensuring healthy growth and bountiful harvests.
Vegetable Gardening: We specialize in growing vegetables for your table, whether in garden beds or planter boxes.
Composting Systems: We can design and manage an onsite composting system to enhance soil health and reduce waste.
As with all our services, you only pay for our time and materials, which are passed on at cost. We require a minimum commitment of one day (6 hours) per month from our maintenance customers to ensure consistent care for your garden.
Garden Management
In addition to day-to-day maintenance, larger gardens can greatly benefit from a dedicated garden manager who takes a long-term, invested approach to your landscape. For clients who do not require a full-time manager, we offer all the same services on a part-time or as-needed basis. These services include:
Garden Crew Management: Assembling and overseeing a stable garden crew to ensure consistent care for your estate.
Infrastructure Management: Handling the ordering, delivery, and maintenance of existing garden infrastructure to keep your landscape in optimal condition.
Indoor Plant Care: Providing maintenance for indoor plants and creating weekly floral arrangements to enhance your living spaces.
Edible Garden Management: Planning, planting, crop rotation, pruning, harvesting, composting, and maintaining year-round planting schedules for your edible gardens.
Specialist Coordination: Managing a network of specialists, such as arborists, irrigation experts, beekeepers, electricians, and pool and pond specialists, to ensure your garden functions optimally and remains visually appealing.
Water Conservation Management: Implementing water reduction strategies, including programming timers, managing rain/grey water systems, tracking consumption, and regular mulching.
With over 20 years of experience in estate garden management, we are sensitive to the unique concerns of our larger clients. We can provide numerous references upon request and are committed to managing all aspects of your property, excluding your home.
